Pants On Fire
Ok, I REALLY promise this time. Lots has been going on and blah blah blah.
But this afternoon I just printed out all of my Ireland photos and I'm in the process of deciding which ones are worthy (and non-incriminating) enough to post here. And I've started writing all about my trip to Ireland so you'll get some text with those photos, but I'm nowhere near done with that. It's going to be in a three-post series, and I promise you'll love it!
Well... maybe I shouldn't promise that, but it will be thorough and entertaining.
So... it's Thursday night, and I'm working tomorrow... and then I'm going to try to RUSH home, shower and drive up to Laura's for an impromptu (is it still impromptu if you know the day before?) and brief trip with her to Boston. I'll be dead meat by the time I get to New Haven from having worked all day, but she said she'd drive the rest of the trip. We'll get to Matt's apartment in the middle of the night, crash, and then the three of us will enjoy the Harvard-Yale football game Saturday afternoon. Then Laura and I will drive home and I'll drop her off back at her apartment in New Haven before continuing on my way to my house so I can work Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
My parents aren't happy that I'm running off like that, and they think it's nuts to be doing it in one day, but I'm young, and these opportunities don't always come up, and it's a lot of fun, so why not, right? Plus I'm cleaning out all my crap from the kitchen and entryway of the house to appease them a bit so our place won't look like a shithole when our family and friends come Thursday for Thanksgiving (so far the count is up to 15 guests, I think!). Matt said that if they really put their feet down and forbid me to go, that I can blackmail them by threatening to put all of my crap back down on the stairs and in the kitchen just before all of our guests come... but I wouldn't do that. Would I?
But I'm also off Wednesday right before the holiday craziness, so I promised them that whatever else needs to get done will not be a problem. I'll vacuum the rug and make the couches in the living room look nice, scrub down all of the tables and counters and the stovetop till they're gleaming, put the leaf in the dining room table and dress it with a cloth and centerpiece of some kind (probably involving the pumpkin that's sitting out on our front steps. Heh.)
Ok, so it's almost 11pm and I'd better get back to cleaning. Just a bit more until I'm done for the night and then I have to hurry up and get to sleep so I can hurry up and get to work so I can hurry up and get to Laura's, then to Matt's, then to sleep again so I'll be fresh for Ivy League football! I cannot wait!!
