At A Loss
Because I don't feel like telling anyone about my summer vacation. It's a secret...

Just kidding. My loss is really because I'm back at work and my vacation is over. But alas, all good things must come to an end.
I started off the two weeks I spent away from work by driving to Boston tha
t first Wednesday to play with Matt. And on Friday after his classes were over, the two of us drove upstate to my new summer house where we spent the weekend hanging out on my friends' boat and relaxing lakeside. On Sunday I took him to the bus stop to head back to Boston and from that point pretty much hung out by myself for almost a whole week. It was kind of scary (but only because it was dark and there were country noises I'm not used to hearing and I'm already a dope an
d afraid of everything), but really relaxing. I got a sun burn that blistered (gross), read a lot, went to the grocery store almost every day, slept in, sat around, and rode my bicycle around a little bit. The last weekend I was there my parents came up to keep me company, and several hours after they left, Rayme came up for awhile. We had a couple of adventures inclu
ding those where we tried to find Fort Ticonderoga and made sure to secure her some long-awaited chicken McNuggets with honey, swimming in the lake, and cooking an amazing dinner together, and then on Tuesday morning she left, followed by yours truly a bunch of hours later.
It was really great and I was definitely sad to have to get back to work. Especially since I knew that my unit was going to be ridiculously busy. But oh well. The summer's almost over and reality had to hit sooner or later.
My next fun plans are coming up in a week-- I'm going upstate for six days or something to visit with Matt, his family and his buddies and I absolutely can't wait. Yay!
