Exhausted

So, I guess the party's over. I had my fun, now I have to pay my dues and suffer the consequences... in the form of working five out of the next six days at work. I predict that these next few days will take form as me running around like a chicken with her head cut off for twelve-point-five-plus hours each day, leaving me drained and dry... very much like overcooked chicken, I might add.

Ugh. Working is so overrated.

The only good part is that I get paid. Just kidding, nursing is rewarding and blah blah blah. But seriously... thank God for the paycheck.

Anyhow, Monday night on my penultimate day off, I hung out with Julie. It was a real blast-- we had dinner and went out for a movie, and really just got to spend the evening together for the first time in a couple of months. She recently got married (surprise surprise-- another one of my friends who now plays for the married team), so we had a lot to chat about. It was really nice to see her, and especially nice to get away from home (even though that's what I'd done for a large portion of the preceding weekend... but whatever). The next day, Tuesday, I spent a bunch of hours cleaning out my dead grandmother's house. The closing is in less than a month and the place needs to be empty before that time, so when I can, I go over there to dump'n'donate as much as possible.

So tomorrow is day #2 of 5/6 that I'm working. Ugh. I can already tell from how I feel after working today-- I'm going to plotz!

One thing to brighten up my week though: on Friday, my one day off between now and Tuesday, I'm seeing an old friend I met at sleepaway Jew camp back in the year of the flood. We haven't spoken in ages, and we haven't seen each other in even longer. Can't wait to post pictures of my trip for a lunch date with Rachel from then!

Ok, folks-- take care. I'll be sure to post again soon, if my job doesn't eat me.
